Vilnius derby time: VHC Šviesa Vilnius – HC Vilnius

Tomorrow BHL is coming back with the derby of two Vilnius teams: VHC Šviesa Vilnius against HC Vilnius. Both teams have played two games at BHL. Both lost against Põlva Serviti, but managed to win an other Estonian club HC Kehra/Horizon Pulp&Paper.

To the question how it is to play with the team you know almost as good as your own, Žygimantas Sinkevičius, coach of VHC Šviesa Vilnius says:
“We really know the HC Vilnius team very well, it is a team with a good attack, clearly the exclusive leader is Vaidas Drevinskas, which is difficult to stop for all teams.” Asked about the strength and weaknesses of opponents, he says: “I don’t think there are strong or weak places in the derby. It’s just a principled opponent against whom you always want to win.” To the question, does coach remembers last time they played against each other, he remembers: “We won the last two matches in the last seconds of the match, those duelling were very intriguing and interesting.”

Head coach of HC Vilnius, Kestutis Lapinskas things that both teams have similar chances to win this game, although VHC Šviesa won last time, he is sure this game is going to be interesting :
“Both teams are of approximately equal strength. We wouldn’t identify the strengths and weaknesses of VHC Šviesa, because the game always depends on the enthusiasm of the teams.
The last derby was on March 31st, 2021. Šviesa won with a score of 34:35. All of our matches are intense, so let’s watch tomorrow’s game at 7 p.m. on YouTube!”
