The decisive matches for spots in the BHL final four are still to be played. The quarter-final return matches will take place on Saturday. This will leave just four contenders for the champion title.
Of all the first quarter-final matches, Šviesa won by the largest margin. At home, the Lithuanian champions took an 11-goal lead over the Mistra team from Estonia.
Žygimantas Sinkevičius (coach, VHC Šviesa):
We cannot relax in any way before the second leg. We have talked about it a lot in training. Although we beat Mistra, they can still win and get their revenge in Estonia. The opponents will give maximum effort, so it is going to be a very tough match. If we are in the right frame of mind for the match and fight like we did in Vilnius, we can get a good result. We played very well in Vilnius. The whole team played as one and we won by a good margin against a strong opponent.
Jüri Lepp (coach, Mistra):
I think our ship has sailed. We have a very slim chance of making it to the final four. We played very poorly in the first match. It was our worst game of the season. We will aim for victory at home and we want to show a good play. We understand that it will be very difficult to advance to the final four, but we want to show a good play at home in front of our home crowd and rehabilitate after the defeat in the first match.
The match between Mistra and VHC Šviesa will take place on 25 March at 5 pm in the Aruküla Sport hall.
