HC Vilnius secured two victories against two Latvian teams – SK Latgols Ludza and HK Ogre. Those two victories helped them establish themselves in 4th place. On Saturday they played against SK Latgols and got some quite easy win – 47:33. Already in the first 30 minutes HC Vilnius had a ten goal lead – 22:12. In second 30 minutes it was not the question – are they going to win, but with how many goals are they going to win. This time they scored a high amount of goals for the handball game – 47:33. On Sunday HC Vilnius had one more quite easy and resultative game against HC Ogre/Hydrox – 45:38.

“The main reason for our victory was our good physical and tactical preparation. We had a massive advantage due to our longer bench as well. This way we were able to try our younger players who normally don’t play as often in other matches and therefore rest our key players by keeping the intensity high the whole match.”
Granitas-Karys welcomed Latvian champions in Kaunas – ZRHK Tenax Dobele. First goal in this game was scored by Dobele’s player Kristers Plūme after one minute and 45 seconds were played. Granitas Karys scored their first goal after another minute. After that Lithuanians did secure a safe lead – 7:3. But ZRHK Dobele Tenax came after them and after more than 20 minutes were played, it was a draw – 11:11. In the break three goal advantage to the Lithuanians – 16:13. In the second half Kaunas handball players did a good joband did not let Latvians closer than by four goals. At the end a convincing victory – 30:23. Also on Sunday Granitas-Karys did a good job and won a convincing victory against HC Dragunas Klaipeda, so this week’s two victories helped them establish themselves in 5th place.
HK Ogre/Hydrox started better and got some lead in first minutes of the game – 3:1, but not for long, after six minutes were played, VHC Šviesa took over the lead, but HK Ogre did not let them to take control over the game back. After 30 minutes – 21:20. In next 30 minutes VHC Šviesa Vilnius did better and did not let HK Ogre get close enough to change the path of the game, in the end of the game – 41:35. Second game in this week against SK Latgols was even more convincing, already after first half – 21:9. After 60 minutes –
Varsa Stronglasas had the most interesting game on Saturday and that against another Lithuanian team – HC Dragunas. After first half Lithuanian champions had some small lead – 18:16. In the second half HC Dragunas did manage to secure five goal lead, but in the middle of second half it was again a draw – 26:26. The last 15 minutes of the game ran point by point and 60 minutes was not enough to determine the winner – 33:33. On Sunday’s game Varsa Stronglasas had a game against another champions – Latvian champions – ZRHK Tenax Dobele, also this game was full of ups and downs, but at the end Lithuanians were better and won the game – 34:31.
